Finches started the season with a disappointing 2-0 loss away to Stratford who were one of the stronger teams in the league last season finishing 3rd.
Finches struggled to find their form and rhythm that saw them go unbeaten last season.
Finchfield had a slow start to the game, not passing the ball with the pace and energy that they were last season and struggling to play at a good intensity with heavy rain and winds not favouring them.
They then paid the price just after half time, conceding 2 goals in 10 minutes to pile the pressure on them.
Finches’ brightest spell of the game was in the final 10 minutes where they had a disallowed goal and a few good attacks but unfortunately they couldn’t convert their chances.
With a few players returning to the squad in the coming weeks they are hoping to have a change in fortune and get their first 3 points of the season in the bag, their next match is at home to Telford and Wrekin.
